| 1ST ANGEL: LILITH |

There is controversy as to the actual place where Lilith should be place (either as the first angel or the second angel), but it is clear by the last movie that Lilith is the first angel. Lilith is a seven-eyed, bone-white body crucified to a red cross at the heart of NERV's Terminal Dogma. Lilith is thought to be Adam until the nearly the end of the series. Lilith is said to be Adams first wife. She was exiled by God from the Garden of Eden for being too sexually domineering. As a punishment, Lilith was made to bear Adam 100 children a day and kill 100 chilldren a day. If this was not done she would have to turn on her own children and kill them. |
| 2ND ANGEL: ADAM |

Adam is the second angel. Adam fell to Earth in the Second Impact. This giant of light was used as the source material of the creation of the Evangelions. It is also worth knowing that after being used to create the Evas, Adam contracted from its gian form into an embryo, which Kaji eventually delivers to Gendo. |

This giant creature's name means "covering of God." A Cherub (order of angels), Sachiel lives in the 1st Heaven and presides over the plaet JUpiter. Some believe he is a fallen angel who now serves the four subprinces of Hell's heirarchy. |
| 4TH ANGEL: SHAMSHIEL |
 |
This angel took the shape of a flatwormlike creature. It has the name of "mighty sun of God." Shamshiel rules the 4th Heaven, served as a guardian of Eden, and is said to be one of the chief aides of the archangel Uriel. Some belive that Shamshiel is a fallen angel who taught mortals the astrological secrets of the sun. |

This airborne angel took the shape of a diamondlike entity. Ramiel presides over true visions, has authority over the souls that will be raised from the grave on Judgement Day, and is rumored to have destroyed the hosts of Sennacherib. |
| 6TH ANGEL: GAGHIEL |

This angel takes the shape of an enormous sea monster. Gaghiel's only distinction would seem to be his status as a guardian of the 6th Heaven. Not having been named in the Bible, Gaghiel was doubtless demoted to the status of a fallen angel by the Catholic Church. |

This angel has the ability to self replicate. Its name means "the burning one." Israfel has the duty of blowing the trumpet on Judgement Day, and as such is the angel of resurrection and song. |
| 8TH ANGEL: SANDALPHON |

This creature bears the name "cobrother." Twin brother of the greatest angel of all, Sandalphon is famous is famous for being one of the tallest angels in the heavens and is a master of heavenly song. He is also know sometimes as the "angel of tears," Sandalphon is also said to be central to the process of sexual differentation in a human embryo. |

This entity bears the name of the "angel of rain." Matariel is also reputed to be one of the "rulers of this world," a title commonly attributed to Satan. |

This unusual angel took the form of a computer virus that infected the three Magi computers of Terminal Dogma. Yrouel is the angel of fear, and his name was often inscribed onto amulets that were worn by women during pregnancy. |

This hovering, zebra-striped sphere (which was actually a three dimensional angel) bears the name of a angelic ruler of night. Some believe this angel to be the demonic prince of conception. |

The corrupted Eva Unit-04, this entity bears the name of the angel of hail. However, the angel of hail is considered the same as the angel of lightning. So, Bardiel could be considered one of the four ruling seraphim, and prince of the 2nd Heaven. This would also make Bardiel the ruler of the Zodiacal sign of Scorpio and a powerful influence over games of chance. |

This formidable angel, whose solid body and ribbonlike limbs all but destroyed NERV and our heroes. This angel bears the name "arm of God." Zeruel is known as a warrior angel, and concerned with putre strength and also with fire. |
| 15TH ANGEL: ARAEL |

This crystalline angel attacked NERV from space. It bears the name "lion of God." This angel is known as an angel, a demon, a person, and a city (Jerusalem), this angel has dominion over the winds and has been called "Earth's great lord." It is not known if Arael is a fallen angel or no, but he is thought to be in charge of meting out punishment in the lower world. |
